In Sickness and in Power ; Lord Owen
19:00 - 21:00
Plymouth Peninsula Arts presents:
The Rt Hon Lord Owen CH FRCP on his new title: In Sickness and in Power;
The course of world history has been critically shaped by the physical and mental illnesses of heads of state, sometimes in the public eye but usually in secrecy. Long fascinated with the inter-relationship between politics and medicine, Lord Owen gives us an insight to his unique study of illness in Heads of Government during the last 100 years and the influence of their medical advisers. Before entering politics, David Owen studied medicine at Cambridge, did his clinical training at St Thomas's Hospital and qualified as a doctor in 1962.
Following his presentation Lord Owen will take questions from the audience
